"We're just taking you out to see the world in our eyes. Art is our passion, passion is love and we're spreading the love. Showing you simply what most overlook. Art in it's many forms unintentionally or not, conveyed on the streets and everyday life."

One bored thursday...

...and I decided to give They Art Studio a visit. It just so happens that a news correspondent from PressTV, an Iranian TV channel was there to document They along with the guys from SuperSunday going out and painting for an exposé on graffiti as a form of communication.

Streething AITM

The first StreeThing All In The Family event went down last Saturday at Zouk KL. Unlike StreeThing's previous event, Swap & Gwap '07, instead of focusing more on sneakers this event was more like an assembly of the international street culture scene with showcases of art, music and fashion from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Canada, and the UK.

The event kicked off at around 5pm with graffiti installations by Darbotz, Jahan, Orkibal, Phobia Crew, Sheiko and The Killer Gerbil as well as skate demos from Riyaz, Kecik Ampang, Preduce, and Wheel Love Rollers.
8pm, all the guests are ushered into the main room where an array of customized sneakers, Bearbricks, toys and art pieces done by Sole Obsession, Phuek, Hypethetic, Spoonman, Lazy, The Killer Gerbil, Orkibal and Sheiko displayed at stadium area.

Downstairs, the Lapsap Crew (
DJ Blink and DJ XU) play beat curators providing background music against a backdrop of videos from previous StreeThing events, a fashion show styled by Ethan Chu and modeled by the local movers and shakers of the Malaysian street scene, and performances from the Floor Fever Crew.

The grand finale of the event was fusion of all the showcases of the night - SBTG and Lazy customizing a pair of Dunk Hi's, Dave White doing a live sketch of SBTG's
Year Of The Rat Dunk Lo custom and MC Vandal, Altimet, and Words Manifest

Special thanks to the sponsors Zouk KL, Samsung, Sole Obsession and StreeThing for organizing this event, Dave White, Altimet, Words Manifest, MC Vandal, DJ Blink, SBTG and Lazy for putting on a great show and everybody who came down to show they're love and support for the street culture.
